Tell Me “Are You Still Down”

I thought about all the ways I wanted you to be punished because of your betrayal to our friendship.  To look a friend in the eyes and see them as an enemy is one of the worse realizations I’ve come to encounter, thus far.  A friend that they say would stick closer than a brother can also do you worse than any enemy.

Some friends, like Peter, will cut for you.  Go to war for you.  Even argue with other friends about who is the greatest amongst them.  Yet in a time of darkness they are the first to deny you.  Not sorry for their behavior.  Nor sorry for their words.  Not sorry for their betrayal, but sorry they will BE.

Sometimes in life you may not get an apology from those who have done you wrong and that is okay.  It may seem like all is well, but every dog has its day.

There will come a time when they will be SLAMMED to the ground.  Then they’ll beg for your forgiveness as you rise up somehow.

They will call out to you, but things won’t be the same. Once a glass is shattered it’s hard to put the pieces back together again.

But don’t worry and don’t you fret.  For the pain that they caused you they will soon come to regret.

You will forgive them for their shortcomings for all have sinned.  All have fallen short of the glory it’s only through grace that we’re livin.

In order to forgive you must forget the transgression. Figure out instead how to find the beauty in the lesson.

Learn to let go, learn to move on.  Learn to not become bitter or a person filled with scorn.

Learn to see life through God’s eyes and with love.  Learn to weather the storms of life and to never give up.

Remember karma never forgets an address she knows where you live.  She will always return to you 7 times what you give.

She will dish to you what you dish to others.  So make sure you’re on the up and up my sisters and brothers.

Because the last thing you want is for karma to be against you.  Because then who will you turn to? Who will defend you?

Only God can save you and it’s never too late to call out his name.  Only he has the power to erase your shame.

When the clock strikes and the cock crows 3 times, will you remember the time you told all of your lies???

Will you remember the time when you were up and I was down.  Will you remember the pain you caused and the arrogance you dished out?

Will you remember the days of light while you sit in the dark? Will you pray to God for forgiveness and ask him to create in YOU a clean heart?

Will you call out to those that you’ve done wrong and apologize for your sins? Will you turn from your evil ways vowing not to do them again?

I wonder what you will do when the roles are in reverse and now it is you or a loved one taken away in a hearse?

Will you remember, will you do better, will you ever admit that you were wrong for whatever…

Will you look those you took for granted in the eyes? Then sincerely apologize.

Or will you point the finger and shift the blame?  Or will you console yourself through inflicting others pain?

Or will you say to yourself I will change and turn my life around?  I will reach out to those that I truly love, apologize and ask themARE YOU STILL DOWN“???

Is there anyone on your mind that you need to forgive?  Is there anyone out there that you think you need forgiveness from?? Take time out today to think about whether or not YOU are an example of Love???

Love is patient. Love is kind. Love is not jealous, or boastful, proud, or rude. It does not demand its own way, and it keeps no record of being wrong. It does not rejoice about injustice, but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
